Jeep has its new five-year plan presented in Italy. The highlights: multiple hybridemodellen, no diesels more, and seven new and redesigned models for Europe.
Jeep goes electric. By 2021, there is every Jeep an electrified version. In Europe, this is mainly for plug-in hybrids, of which we in the coming years, eight versions can be expected. Also brings Jeep five mild hybrid versions on the market. In other parts of the world, there are also fully electric-powered Jeeps, but not yet in Europe.
Diesel engines in the coming 5 years are phased out. In 2022, you can only have Jeeps with a gasoline engine or a hybrid drive buy. In the field of autonomous driving technique would make huge leaps to make, within 4 years, the first self-propelled Jeep presented. It comes to a car on level 3 of the scale of autonomous driving. That is to say that the Jeep outside and motorways to fully autonomous driving, but not yet in the city.
The presentation of the brand also includes concrete modelaankondigingen, but it is not yet known what cars come to the Netherlands. For Europe, there are seven new and updated models in the planning, whose two names are entirely new. One of those cars is a model below the Renegade, a small SUV which is likely his technique with the Fiat Panda 4×4 shares. Furthermore, the news especially in the higher segments, there will be new models (the Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer, in 2020) and a new Grand Cherokee, which is also a derivative with three rows of seats on the planning. Again: what cars these come to the Netherlands is not yet known.
In the coming years we can continue to new generations of the Renegade and Cherokee to expect. On the basis of who does Jeep even more models to release, but probably not for the European market.
